April 10, 1941 - September 25, 2023
Betty ''Jeanie'' Jean Jeffers, 82, of Falkner, MS passed away peacefully on September 25, 2023. Jeanie was born on April 10, 1941 to James Marshall and Charlotte Elizabeth McMillin in Eupora, MS.
Jeanie attended West Memphis High School and spent her early adult years being a stay-at-home wife and mother, which she loved the most. She started her career as a receptionist in the dental industry before becoming a bookkeeper for a hotel. Jeanie eventually went to work as a receptionist for Crittenden Memorial Hospital in the x-ray department. Jeanie loved her career at the hospital where she had the privilege of working with family and so many wonderful friends prior to her retirement. She was excellent at her job as she greeted everyone with her infectious smile, calming demeanor of putting people at ease and the loving care for people. Most everyone received a genuine and caring hug. Jeanie was famous for her amazing hugs.
She met the love of her life, Dale E. Jeffers Sr, on December 7, 1963 and three months later they were married on February 13, 1964. They lived happily for 57 years.
Jeanie loved each church she attended and her beautiful angelic voice was shared in the choir. She loved teaching Sunday School as well as Vacation Bible School. She taught God's Love as part of her great parenting skills along with respect and manners to her children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Jeanie loved God and studying the Bible. She also had a love for people that served our country and always made a point to approach the individual to thank them and was often followed by a hug.
Jeanie attended Bible studies, college courses for seniors for art and computer with her mom. Her hobbies were sewing, crocheting, gardening, journaling and canning fruits and vegetables from Dale's garden. She loved spending time with her grandchildren doing arts and crafts, walks to the park, science projects, baking cakes, cookies or pies. Family was very important; the gatherings with relatives and friends included lots of good food, puzzles and games with lots of love and laughter. She was always smiling, happy, silly and loving, which will be missed by everyone.
