Richard Davis Bloesch passed from this life to the next on September 22, 2023.
Born on May 11, 1955, and was raised in Helena/West Helena, where he received a 2 yr. Nursing degree from PCCC.
Richard initially worked for the hospital in Marianna. He later moved to Little Rock and completed the RN Certification and a BSN degree from the University of Central Arkansas. He worked for UAMS and the VA systems in Little Rock.
He began the VA Surgical Quality Improvement Program in Little Rock and worked under the Chief of Surgery for 33+ years and a total of 42+ years at the VA. He was also honored with the Top 100 Nurses in Arkansas Award by the ASBN.
Richard was a member of the Asbury United Methodist Church, church choir and the Emmanuel Sunday School Class.
He was known for his excellence at work, his love for people, and his generosity. He had a great love for music and was a soloist and choir participant in church choirs and civic groups. His laughter, wit and sarcasm endeared him to many friends. He gave to causes year-round each year to help the hungry, homeless and community healthcare. He will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his brother, George Bloesch and his wife, Judy and nephew Cory Bloesch all of Bella Vista; his partner, Ron Selby of North Little Rock; and several cousins. He was preceded in death by parents, George Bloesch, Sr., and Helen Bloesch of West Helena.
Services will be held on Wednesday, October 11, at 1:00 p.m. at Asbury United Methodist Church.
