Following a lengthy illness, Joyce Summerhill Stanford found peace on September 6, 2023 in Little Rock, AR.

On Halloween 1951 in Helena, Arkansas, Joyce entered the world as the second born twin to Russell and Jean Summerhill. Until the end she proclaimed to be "the good twin".

Joyce married Marlin Stanford and to their marriage was born, Leslie. As time passed, her family grew, adding a grandson, Brett Brokeshoulder and then granddaughter, Jewel Brokeshoulder. Joyce adored her grandchildren, spending lots of time with them and going on "Jo's Great Adventures".

The birth of her great grandson, Mark Brokeshoulder, was a high point of Joyce's life. She adored Mark and enjoyed celebrating his milestones with all of us.

Following a lengthy illness, Joyce found peace on September 6, 2023, in Little Rock. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Russell and Jean Summerhill; her husband, Marlin Stanford; her daughter, Leslie Brokeshoulder and brother, Lloyd "Pete" Summerhill.

Left to cherish her memory are grandchildren, Brett Brokeshoulder and Jewel Brokeshoulder; great grandson, Mark Brokeshoulder; three sisters, Peggy Henson, Loyce Corbitt and Donna Titus Cunningham; one brother, Larry Summerhill and a host of nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, September 12th, at 10:00 am at Roller Citizens Funeral Home in West Helena, AR.
