Mary Drucilla (Dru) Orlando, 88, of Benton, Arkansas passed away on Sunday, August 13, 2023.
Dru was born in Traskwood, Arkansas to Ollie Moore and Rose Mae Goodson Moore on March 7, 1935. She graduated in 1952 from Glen Rose High School. She worked in various banking positions throughout her career, beginning at Benton State Bank in 1953. She retired from banking in 1989 and worked as a bookkeeper for Jerry Van Dyke's Soda Shop and GEH & Associates before finally retiring at the age of 70. She quickly became bored and wanted to serve others and began as a Volunteer at Saline Hospice and continued in that role even after her health declined. At the time of her death, Dru was their longest serving volunteer. She also held positions with the Benton Business and Professional Women's group for many years. Dru loved designing and printing brochures, newsletters, cards and took pride in preparing these not only for professional organizations, but also for her church family.
Dru is survived by her two daughters, Mickey (Jacky) Miller, Bauxite, AR and Terri (Rick) Morrow, Benton, AR;
Five grandchildren, Shannon (Andy) Calhoun, Scott (Allison) Morrow, Stephanie (Luke) Smith, April (Chris) Sandmann and Staci (Mark) Vinyard; Fourteen great grandchildren, Lexie and Joely Calhoun, Kinley, Sawyer and Jack Morrow, Truett, Griffin, Deacon and Campbell Smith, Ebin, Erin and Emma Sandmann and Hudson and Addie Leonard; One great great granddaughter, Oakley Pruitt. Dru is preceded in death by her parents, siblings and daughter, Sandy Vaughan Colbert.
Funeral services will be held at Roller-Alcoa Funeral Home, 6700 Alcoa Road, Benton on Wednesday, August 16, 2023 with visitation at 10:00 am and service beginning at 11:00 am with Reverend Rick Morrow officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hills Cemetery in Bauxite, AR. Roller-Alcoa Funeral Home will be handling the funeral arrangements.
The family wishes to extend their sincerest gratitude to Saline Hospice for the excellent care provided to our loved one, going above and beyond what we could ever imagine. We would also like to thank the residents (friends) at Waverly Heights for their care, concern and help during her time there. Memorials may be made to Saline Memorial Hospice.
