Sheilah M. Barrett passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 3, 2023 after battling Alzheimer's disease. She was born August 6, 1950 to Charlice and Vernice Maddox in Roswell, New Mexico, where her dad was stationed at in the Air Force. The family later moved to Jacksonville, Arkansas, where Sheilah graduated from Jacksonville High School.

She completed her Bachelors degree at Arkansas State University in Jonesboro. She taught Spanish and Math for Benton, Jacksonville and Sherwood, Arkansas school districts.

Sheilah loved going to the beach, reading and cross stitch. A talented seamstress, she made clothes for herself, friends and her friend's children. She was of the Lutheran faith.

Sheilah was preceded in death by her parents and the father of her children, Gary M. Barrett.

Survivors include her sons, Ryan Jacob Barrett and Reed Jordan Barrett; brother, Joe Maddox (Nina) of St. Louis, MO; nephew, Robert Jay Maddox, Jr.; niece, Leigh Allison Crane (Ben) and great-niece, Marlowe Maddox.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 11, at 10:30 AM at Roller-Owens Funeral Home in North Little Rock. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at 9:30 AM.

Entombment will be private.
