Lindsey Meredith Wells passed away on June 12, 2023 at her home in Benton, Arkansas. She was born in Little Rock, Arkansas in 1981, the daughter of proud parents, Dennis and Anne Wells and lived in Fayetteville for many years before returning to Benton.
Lindsey graduated from Benton High School in 1999. She graduated from the University of Arkansas in 2004 with a Bachelor of Architecture degree from the Fay Jones School of Architecture and Design. Lindsey studied abroad in Rome to complete this five-year program.
Lindsey was treasured by her family and will always be remembered for her kind and gentle nature. She always enjoyed family functions and outings and expressed her love for family members in many ways. She was known for her intellect, her sense of humor and her quick wit. Family members especially appreciated her devotion to her nieces, Olivia and Lily, for whom she served as a "second mother" while she lived in Fayetteville.
Lindsey returned to Benton in 2018 to provide care for her dad, who had been diagnosed with colon cancer that year. Her family will always appreciate the care and love she provided Dennis during a very difficult battle with this terrible disease. Her compassion, devotion and willingness to tackle all issues related to the illness was readily apparent to all.
Lindsey's concern and compassion for those in need was demonstrated by her recent volunteer work for the Greater Assistance to Those in Need (GAIN) program of Little Rock, where she coordinated an Arts program for clients. Prior to her untimely death, Lindsey had planned to become a full-time contributor to the program, following in her dad's footsteps who had been GAIN's Executive Director prior to his retirement.
Preceding Lindsey in death was her father, Dennis Wells. She leaves behind her mother, Anne, her sister and brother-in-law, Julie and John Council and her nieces, Olivia and Lily Council. Also, she leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles and cousins who treasured Lindsey, not only as a relative, but as a caring, loving and witty family member.
Importantly, as an organ donor, Lindsey leaves behind several currently unknown beneficiaries who will receive the greatest gift of all, life itself, from Lindsey's generosity and kindness.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, June 16, 2023 at 4:00 p.m. at Roller-Alcoa Funeral Home, 6700 Alcoa Road, Benton.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be given to the GAIN Assertive Community Treatment Home patient fund at GAIN, Inc. 712 W. 3rd St. Little Rock, AR 72201.
