We are sad to announce the passing of Mr. Sammy E. Miller, known as "Paw", of Elaine, Arkansas. Paw died at the age of 80 on May 29, 2023 surrounded by his loved ones after a courageous battle.
Paw is survived by his beautiful wife of 62 years, Mrs. Adrea Miller. He was the proud father of three daughters, Donna Pope (Nick Pope-deceased), Linda Kelley (Tim Kelley) and Brenda Newsom (Jimmy Newsom). Paw was the proud grandfather of Christopher Miller (Tammy Miller), Tray Brown (Brittney Wright), TJ Kelley (Averi Kelley), Ashley Cothren (Jeffrey Cothren), Jeremy Newsom (Morgan Newsom), Penny Pope (Cliff Hagedon), Nathan Pope, Amber Brown and Kimberly St. John. Paw has many beloved great-grandchildren, Destiny, Samantha, Makayla, Kendall, Brayden, Hunter, Jagger, Tanner, Khloe, Slane, Avery, Grayson, Carson and Westyn; as well as great-great-grand-daughter-to-be Brynleigh Lawson. Paw was the caring god-father of Delores Garcia and Crystal Hopper. Paw loved and was cared for by Mary Miller, Christinia Dennis, Jamie Dennis and Donna Faulkner.
Paw was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. Ed Miller and Mrs. Lucille Cline; brothers, Luther Miller and Bobby Miller; sister, Charlene Hall and son-in-law, Nick Pope.
Paw is survived by siblings, Ruth Huggins, Thomas Miller (Glenda Miller) and Lisa Newsom (Randall Newsom) and brother-in-laws, Jack Huggins and J.C. Huggins.
Paw was a life-long farmer. His many passions included fishing, hunting, gardening, motorcycling and setting fires. Paw loved and cherished his family and friends alike.
Paw's absence will not only be felt by his dear loved ones, but also by the community at large. His legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of everyone whose life he touched.
A funeral service for Sammy E. Miller will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 1, 2023 at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home Chapel. A visitation will be held prior to the service at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 1, 2023 at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home Chapel. Brother Nathan Gorman and Brother Tony Silva will officiate. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens in West Helena, Arkansas.
Pallbearers will be Terry Kemp, Kaleb Hall, Chris Tillman, Danny Newsom, Greg Faulkner, Michael St. John and Dion Borchert.
Honorary pallbearers will be Johnny Hall and Sonny Tillman.
