Opal Elizabeth (Ford) Curtis, 87, went to be with her heavenly father on May 28, 2023.
Opal was born in Benton, Arkansas and was a lifetime citizen of Saline County. She attended Benton Schools and retired from the Benton School District. Opal was a member of Holland Chapel Baptist Church. She enjoyed doing crafts with her husband and spending time with her family. She was famous for cooking her delicious desserts.
Opal was preceded in death by her wonderful husband, Billy Bob Curtis. They were blessed with 51 years of marriage. Also, her parents, Luther and Minnie Ford; her sister, Betty Mobley; brothers, Billy Ford and Jessie Ford; her sister-in-law, Pat Ford and a grandson, Jonathan Daniel Curtis.
Opal is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Irvin and Delores Ford; her brother-in-law, Jay W. Mobley and sister-in-law, Betty Sue Ford; her daughter and son in law, Beverly and Ron Vinyard; her son and daughter in law, Doug and Jeannette Curtis; six grandchildren, Amber Loyd, Heath Vinyard, Joshua (Megan) Curtis, Jonica (Harrison) Ferrell, Joanna (Kelly) Scott all of Benton and John David (Cassie) Curtis of Russellville, Arkansas.
Opal has ten amazing great-grandchildren, Trapper and Harper Curtis of Russellville, Cooper and Caroline Loyd, Hudson and Charly ''Girl'' Ferrell, Cannon Cooper, Tucker and Stella Grace Curtis and Tenley Jo Scott all of Benton. Also, she has many nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Funeral Services will be held at Roller-Alcoa Funeral Home at 6700 Alcoa Road, Benton, Arkansas on June 1, 2023 at 2:00PM. Interment will follow at Rosemont Cemetery in Benton, Arkansas. Bro. Kim Hammer and Bro. Carl Richey will be officiating. Visitation will be held at Roller-Alcoa Funeral Home at 1:00PM on June 1, 2023.
Pallbearers will be her grandchildren, Heath Vinyard, Joshua and John David Curtis, her great grandchild, Cooper Loyd and two of her nephews, Jeff Curtis and Greg Ford. Honorary pallbearers will be her remaining grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
