of Mountain Home, AR
February 24, 1940 - May 28, 2023
Gwynna Lou Walker of Mountain Home, Arkansas was born February 24, 1940 in Oxford, Arkansas to Guy and Edith (Robins) Reynolds and she entered into eternal rest on Sunday, May 28, 2023 at the age of 83.
Gwynna was a charter member of Riverside Church of Christ in Gassville, Arkansas, where she worshiped and readily volunteered. She dearly loved her church family, her love was mutually returned by all who knew her. Her sweet nature, kindness and easy laugh resulted in deep friendships and fun times. Her love for family superseded all else; always close to her side was her comforter, advisor, friend and daughter, Lisa Hammett.
Gwynna's working years were primarily spent at Baxter Healthcare Corporation in Mountain Home, where she was employed for 32 years. She finished her career as a Sterilizer Operator and there, just as with her church family, she formed uncountable friendships. After she retired, she volunteered her time with Kindness, Inc, served as a board member of the North Arkansas Youth Center and worked local election polls multiple times. Her spare time was used cheering on the Arkansas Razorbacks for football, basketball and baseball (WPS!). When a game wasn't being played, she read the Baxter Bulletin, completing the many printed crossword puzzles. Her famous peanut brittle added sweetness to the family gatherings at Christmas time.
Gwynna is survived by her daughter, Lisa Hammett (Harry); granddaughter, Nicole Skidmore (Rick); three great-grandchildren, Hunter, Shelby, Danika; her brother, Bill Reynolds (Lyda); a niece and nephew and multiple cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and son, Scott Walker.
A visitation will be held at Riverside Church of Christ, 190 Whitaker Lane, Gassville, AR on Friday, June 2, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. followed by A Celebration of Life at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow immediately at the Gassville Cemetery.
