of Little Rock, AR
July 8, 1964 - May 14, 2023
A bright light in this world has been dimmed. The center of our family's universe, Anne Lynne Ward, passed away on Sunday, May 14th surrounded by her loving family. Lynne was born, along with her twin sister, Lee, in Baton Rouge, LA on July 8th, 1964 to parents Carmel and Kenneth Streater. She was the second one birthed (by 5 minutes), so she was the baby of the family. Lynne was always the smallest of her class but by far the fiercest. That is how she lived her life, sometimes underestimated, but never outworked at anything she accomplished (as evidenced by her email address -lynnewardworkshard).
Lynne graduated from LSU in 1988 with a BS in Psychology and minored in Sociology and Statistics. She went on to work in various national health plans (United Healthcare, Prudential, Windsor) and at the clinic formerly known as Arkansas Speciality Orthopaedics. Her focus was to coordinate quality, compliance and policy development. She established HIPPA, NCQA, and Medicare/Medicaid standards for each health plan/clinic for which she was employed. In fact, she won the first NCQA accreditation in the state of Arkansas for Prudential Health Care.
The drive within her is best evidenced by her current manager, Anne Santifer, CEO Share Network , "Lynne was passionate about health care quality improvement...Lynne was a diligent, enthusiastic and hard-working individual...(she) will be deeply missed by all who worked with her and her colleagues will never forget her dedication and positive attitude."
Lynne was a part of the LSU tennis team and an avid tennis player post-college until a hand injury prohibited her from continuing that passion. However, her biggest accomplishment was being a loving, patient, comforting wife and a momma bear to her boys. Oh, how she loved her boys!! She would attend all of her boys' sporting events and be the biggest and loudest cheerleader (much to the chagrin of them). She loved them so fiercely and would go to the ends of the earth (and back) to do ANYTHING for them. Lynne was a very loving and compassionate soul and would be the best friend you ever had, even if she didn't know you that well.
Lynne leaves behind her to forever cherish her memory husband, Sean; sons, Ian and Jackson; sister-n-law, Kathleen Ward; her parents, Carmel and Ken Streater; two sisters, Gwen Bourgeois (husband, Reed) and Lee Streater; nieces, Julie, Rachel and Madeline Bourgeois; nephew, Joey Bourgeois; many Nani's and their families and of course, her beloved dachshund, Ralph.
The family would like to thank, Drs. Robert and Mary Searcy; nurses, Trea and Kristen and the rest of the team on the SICU floor at Baptist Medical Center.
A very casual gathering of friends and family will be held at the Christ Community Church Events Center, 6015 Chenonceau Blvd, Suite 100, LR 72223 on Friday, May 26, 2023 from 6:00-8:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Christ Community Church's future home, https://c3rooted.org/giving or the Humane Society of Pulaski County, http://warmhearts.org/, 14600 Colonel Glenn Road, Little Rock, AR 72210.
