Terri Lynn Tyner

of Jonesboro, AR

July 12, 1964 - April 18, 2023

Terri Lynn (McKnight) Tyner, 58, of Jonesboro passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 18, 2023 at St Bernard's Medical Center surrounded by her family. She was born July 12,1964 in Jonesboro to Paul and Loretta McKnight. Terri was a 1982 honor graduate of Jonesboro High School. She attended Arkansas State University and graduated with a Master of Science in Education, Instructional Specialist in May 2011, Bachelor of Science in Dec. 1998 and Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems in May 1986. She was currently a math teacher at Westside High School. She also taught Geometry and Algebra II. Terri had an overall of 25 years teaching experience. Terri was a member of Jonesboro Christian Church and was also the pianist and the director of the choir and handbells. Her hobbies included cross-stitching, attending her children's events, doing jigsaw puzzles and sudoku, but most of all she loved being a Mimi to Jonah.

Matthew 5:9 "Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God." For anyone who knew Terri knows this scripture fit her perfectly. She never wanted to see anyone fight or upset and would do anything to make sure everyone was happy. Terri had a huge smile and an infectious laugh. She never met a stranger and she always had a big smile, even while fighting ovarian cancer for 3 years, her smile could light up a room. Terri cared so deeply for the people around her and made a great impact on so many lives. She was a strong fighter and an inspiration to others and maintained her strong Christian faith through the good and bad times.

Terri was known as the snow dancing lady. She loved snow and told everyone tricks to help make it snow. There was a special dance that involved the stankey leg, the sprinkler and the mixer. The solution for snow days was to snow dance in her pajamas, inside out and ice cubes down the toilet. This would make it snow.

Preceded in death by her grandparents, Benjamin and Una Mae McKnight, Ralph and Mary Lee Jarrett; father, Benjamin Paul McKnight; mother-in-law, Mary Jane VanSlyke and father-in-law, Clay Tyner
