Tony J. Franks, 61, of Batesville passed away April 3, 2023.

He was born July 21, 1961 in Batesville to Bobby Joe Franks and Eddie Jean Jones.

Tony was a fisherman, hunter, would give the shirt off his back, loved his friends like family and was one of the most knowledgeable people you could ever meet. He was known for his vast knowledge of pretty much everything and if you knew him, you know what that means!

Tony loved cars, racing, the love of his children, fishing, fishing tournaments, deer and turkey hunting, his family and cherished his friends. He enjoyed the joy of grandkids, meeting the great grands and helping others. That's my daddy, Tony Franks. He will be missed by many.

Survivors include two sons, Michael Franks (Brandy) of Batesville, Nathan Franks of Cushman; one daughter, Ashley Tharp (Tim) of Cushman; his parents, Bobby Joe Franks and Eddie Jean Jones of Batesville; one sister, Tammy Birkhead (Roger) of Locust Grove; ten grandchildren, Sadie Dildine (Hunter), Kaitlyn Renfrow, Joseph Franks, Hannah Franks, Ashtyn Bell, Ethan Bell, James Eason, Morgan Tharp, Mackenzie Tharp, Ethan Tharp; eight great-grandchildren, Eric, Lucas, Liam and Aldean Dildine, Nate Jaco, Chloe Foreman, Emily Franks and Augustus Lewis, as well as several nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Floyd and Edna Mae Franks; maternal grandparents, Ed and Imogene Jones; aunts and uncles, David jones, Jerry Dodd and Peggy Stevens.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 20, 2023 from 2:00-4:00pm at the Mt. Pleasant School Cafeteria.
