Charles R. Deaton, age 94, a resident of Harrison, Arkansas, passed away on Friday, February 24, 2023, at Countryside Assisted Living in Harrison. Charles was born October 14, 1928, to Dyson C. and Myrtle L. (King) Deaton in Monroe, Arkansas. He had five siblings, Clarence, Herman, Gilbert, Billie, and Mildred, who all predeceased him. His first wife of 60 years, Doris Evelyn Deaton, also preceded him in death.

Charles was a member of the Bellefonte Church of Christ, which he regularly attended before his health prevented him from doing so.

Chuck is survived by his current wife, JoAnn (McEntire) Deaton of the home; JoAnn's daughter, Dena Beach and her husband, Jimmy of Harrison; grandchildren, Hadley and Seth; son, Darren McEntire and his wife, Karen of Haddonfield, New Jersey, and grandchildren, Logan and wife, Paige, Collin, and Bodie McEntire. He is also survived by three great-nieces, one great-nephew, and numerous friends and acquaintances.


The graveside service was Tuesday, February 28, 2023, at Maplewood Cemetery.

Open viewing was Monday afternoon and Tuesday morning.
