Barry EppesI am a Veteran.

of Yellville, AR

June 20, 1952 - February 10, 2023

Barry Dale Eppes Sr was born June 20, 1952 in Wynne, Arkansas to Clearance Hardin Eppes and Pearlene Francis Lou Kay. He passed away at his home on February 10, 2023.

When Barry was nineteen years old, he joined the Navy and served a term in Vietnam. He went on to have two children and two-step children and loved his family with his whole heart. He spent his last working years at Marion County Paving and the last ten years of his life working as a ''Professional Grumpa''.

Barry loved spending time outdoors hiking, walking the creek beds looking for artifacts, kayaking and taking his dogs on adventures. He was passionate about sports, mainly football and spent his life cheering for the Pittsburgh Steelers. He also loved playing games such as bocce ball, washers, darts, horseshoes, ping pong, shuffleboard and dice with ''The Bent Quarter Club'' which included a select few people who had to have a whole induction before being a member. Anyone could play though, as long as they had a quarter!

He was a major prankster and loved to scare people. Regardless, he loved his wife, kids and grandchildren fiercely and spoiled them all every chance he got. He came from a large family, who he teased for 70 years, but they all knew how much he loved them.

Barry is survived by his wife, Tonya Allene Eppes (Peak) of Yellville; three sons, Barry Eppes JR (Deidre) of Yellville, Spencer Dodillet (Cortney) of Yellville and Zachary Dodillet (Amber) of Yellville; a daughter, Brittany Roberts (Chris) and nine grandchildren, Tatum, Rylee, Gracie, River, Lili, Serephina, Ruby, Zayden and Joanna. He also leaves behind two sisters, Lisa Austin (Carl) of Mountain Home, Angie Jensen (Larry) of Yellville and one brother, Skip Craven of Yellville.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Clearance Hardin Eppes and Pearlene Francis Lou Payne (Kay) and his step-father, James Albert Payne. He is also preceded in death by four brothers, Randall Eppes, Lanny Eppes, Keith Eppes and Jamie Payne and two sisters, Judy Campbell and Chrystal Jones.

Services will be Tuesday, February 14th at 2:00 pm at Roller Burns Funeral Home, followed by a graveside service at Layton Cemetery in Yellville.
