of Bryant, AR
February 5, 1918 - December 3, 2022
Our county has lost another World War II veteran. In 1942, Emil Seth Caple proudly joined the U.S. Navy where he honorably served until the end of the war. Emil was born to Claude and Edna Caple on February 5, 1918. On December 3, 2022, he passed away in his home in Bryant at the age of 104. On his 100th birthday he was honored to receive a citation from Representative Kim Hammer. When he returned from the war, Emil was employed by Alcoa for 42 years, where he held several positions, from working as a painter to driving at the mines; he enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, and may often been found playing ball or bingo at the Benton Senior Center, where he was a member of the Wildcats bean bag ball team.
Emil is survived by his daughter, Sheila Robinson, and his sons Ron (Bonnie) Caple, Dewayne (Judy) Caple, and Don Caple. Also surviving him are his grandchildren, Charles Robinson, Rhonda McBain, David, Jared, Daryl, Aaron, and Amanda Caple. He was proud of his ten great-grandchildren. Della Davis Caple was married to Emil for 64 years. She died in 2004. Those preceding Emil in death include his parents, his brother, Douglas Caple, his sister Jewel Draper, and dear friend, Virginia Wise.
