Bobby Lee McCollum, 90, of Violet Hill passed away October 25, 2022.
He was born May 22, 1932 in Wiseman, Arkansas to Hayden and Inez (Cooper) McCollum.
Bobby was a very generous and good man who loved his family and was a member of Forest Chapel Methodist Church. He enjoyed get-togethers with friends where they would play music. Bobby served in the U.S. Army, loved to travel and owned a grocery store, where he would work long hours seven days a week. In his free time, he enjoyed playing the guitar and even got to play with Porter Wagoner.
Survivors include one son, Don McCollum (Beverly) of Violet Hill; two daughters, Pamela McCollum of Violet Hill and Elizabeth Smith (Toby) of Melbourne; eight grandchildren, Bradley, Nathan, and Daniel McCollum, Jennifer Callahan, Ashley McCarty, James Stevens, Keifer Smith and Kerby Smith; six great-grandchildren, Katie and Emily Callahan, Raigann McCarty, Josh McCarty, Hayden Stevens, Rynner Stevens and other nieces, nephews and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Betty Smith McCollum.
A memorial graveside service will be held Friday, October 28, 2022 at 1:00pm at Violet Hill Cemetery.
