of Leslie, AR
January 19, 1938 - September 23, 2022
Aaron Bailey Wilson, age 84, of Wiley's Cove, Arkansas passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, September 23rd, 2022. He was born in Dickinson, Texas on January 19th, 1938 to Albert Bailey Wilson and Bertie Mae Keyes Wilson.
Aaron attended schools in several East Texas and Gulf Coast towns. As an 8th grader, he met Sally Seeger after her family had moved to Conroe and they became sweethearts. He graduated from Conroe High School in Conroe, TX in 1956. After high school, Aaron earned a choir scholarship to Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, TX, but transferred to Blinn College in Brenham, TX and played football. In the fall of 1958, Aaron's dad passed away and he had to leave college to take his father's job at The Superior Oil Company. He was still Sally's sweetheart, so they married in 1960 and lived in Conroe. Their 2 children were born there. Aaron was active in an antique car club, church choir and loved to play golf and hunt. In 1975, Aaron's job with Superior moved the family to Midland, TX. Sally and Aaron were active in the local Methodist church, singing in the choir and leading youth group. In 1978, Aaron was transferred to Cortez, CO. He enjoyed all the outdoor activities with his family including deer hunting and snow skiing. Once again, he was active in the church choir and enjoyed watching his children's sports. In 1981, he was transferred back to Texas and he and Sally lived in Columbus, TX until they retired and moved to Leslie in 1993. He was in the church choir and an active member of the local Gideon's group, Farm Bureau and Rotary Club. Even though Aaron was a Texan by birth, he was loved and adored by the people of Leslie and he loved them back.
