Johnny Goings passed away peacefully at the age of 81, on Friday, July 29, 2022 in the comfort of his daughter's home in North Carolina, surrounded by the love of his family. Johnny was born in Helena, AR on January 16, 1941 to his parents, Lillian Olivia Little and Leonard H. Goings, Sr. He is preceded in death by his brothers, Leonard Goings (Mary) , Arthur Goings (Carolyn) and William "Bill" Goings (Shirley).

Johnny enlisted in the U.S. Army, served in the Vietnam War and retired as a decorated veteran. After serving more than 20 years in the Army, Johnny began his second career with the Helena/West Helena Police Department. He retired from the police force after 18 years of service as the Chief of Police in West Helena.

Johnny's passion was his love of fishing, waterskiing, shooting, playing cards, camping and golfing. He was an avid reader, finding enrichment in the westerns, mysteries or anything that he could fit inside his kindle. In addition to his hobbies, he loved spending time with family and friends.

Johnny is survived by his daughter, Gail Prince-Krinard (Courtney), and son, Thomas Goings, Jr. Grandchildren, Marie Davis-Johnson (Gary), John Marshall Davis (Becka), Kathryn Prince-Headley (Dustin) and Sebastian Krinard. Great Grandchildren, Delilah, Dean, Addison, Graelyn and Dawson.

Graveside services for Johnny will be held at 11:00am on Friday, August 5, 2022 at the Sunset Memorial Park, US 49, Lexa AR. Donations should be sent, in lieu of flowers, to the COPD Foundation, www.copdfoundation.org.
