Jerri Landrum

of Fox, AR

May 5, 1950 - July 27, 2022

Jerri May Landrum, 72, of Fox, Arkansas passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by loved ones on July 27, 2022. She was born on May 5, 1950 in Xenia, Ohio.

Jerri was a phenomenal woman. She was compassionate, hard-working, considerate, outspoken and an incredibly caring mother of five. Her hard-working compassion went well beyond her children. Jerri spent years as a foster parent and was committed to helping troubled kids. Later in life she became a Licensed Practical Nurse (L.P.N.) and worked providing care for over thirty years. She was a nurse for Rural Special Schools, at Baxter Regional, in home health and in a psychiatric clinic. She made a positive impact on countless people during her professional career.

She was a lifelong Democrat and dedicated her life to helping others. She always had her weenie dog at her side and on any given day could be found watching CNN, feeding her chickens and sheep, or scouring flea market booths for treasures to share.

Jerri was also one tough cookie. When she was in her early thirties, she decided to move to Alaska. She packed up her Bronco II and drove herself the entire 3,835 miles, found a job and enjoyed exploring the far Northwest. She loved the river, the outdoors, camping and fishing. Her record catch was a 35 lb. catfish. She passed her love of nature down to each of her children.

Jerri was incredibly generous. She would often do without in order to give to her kids and grandkids, who she loved "more than all the stars in the sky". In her words, "Well, if you're gonna be generous, you might as well go big." What's more, she was fun. She loved games and was an avid Rummy player, often beating family and friends right up until the very end. She loved dancing and on many occasions her home suddenly broke out into an impromptu dance party. She loved the beach and spent many hours every summer on Florida beaches searching for shells and enjoying the sound of the waves.

Jerri will be greatly missed by all of her loving family and friends. She is survived by her children, Tonya Landrum of Fayetteville, Arkansas, Chad Landrum and wife Regan of Sandpoint, Idaho, Quinn Landrum of Fayetteville, Arkansas, Ivan Landrum of Eureka Springs, Arkansas and Allison Haught of Gepp, Arkansas; six grandchildren, Jade Thomas, Miles Landrum, Kolt Burton, Silvi Landrum, Finnley Parker and Tucker Haught; two siblings, Jim Drake of Ohio and Sallilee Conlon of California, along with many extended family and friends. Jerri was preceded in death by her parents, Lee and Evelyn (Gilbert) Conlon; one sister, Karen Warford and her aunt, Irene Osborn.

A private service and celebration of life will take place on August 13 at her farm. She loved flowers and they may be brought by invited guests or sent to her home for the day of the service.
