Frank Joseph "Bud" Kremer, 83, a resident of Scranton, passed away Friday, July 8, 2022 at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville.
He was born September 9, 1938 in Paris to the late Frank Alfred and Mary Clementine (Beshoner) Kremer. Bud served in the United States Navy and retired after 20 years of service as a Master Chief Engineman. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and enjoyed sharing stories of his time as a sailor. After his military service, Bud first worked with his brother as a local masonry contractor; he then retired from the United States Postal Service as a rural letter carrier after over 23 years of service. In his spare time, Bud enjoyed small engine repair, cattle farming, fishing and woodworking. He was a member of the St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Scranton, the Abbot Raphael DeSalvo Knights of Columbus Council 14619, the American Legion Post 258, the Veterans of Foreign Wars and a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association. Bud also gave of his time and money to numerous charitable organizations.
In addition to his parents, Frank was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Ann "True Love" (McClure) Kremer and four siblings, E.C. Kremer, Mary Ramona Whitman, Jack R. Kremer and Roger Dale Kremer.
Survivors include two sons, Frank Sumner Kremer and wife, Tommie Sue of Scranton and Patrick Allen Kremer and wife, Mary Whitecotton of Etna; three daughters, Mary ''Kathy'' Koch and husband, Joey of Scranton, Candy Kim Bauer and husband, Grady of Scranton and Angie Hutson and husband, Bryan of Berryville; 13 grandchildren, Trey Koch and wife, Lynsey, Mary Ayla Koch, Casey Pitts, Kristy Forst and husband, Craig, James Lucas Bauer and wife, Vanessa, Joseph Kremer, Bridgett Miller and husband, Matt, Logan Kremer and wife, Juliana, Collin Hutson and fiance', Dylan, Grant Hutson and wife, Savanna, Morissa Haney, Bradon Street and Kaiden Kremer; 14 great grandchildren; three sisters, Elaine Sprick and husband, James of Subiaco, Shirley M. Kremer of Scranton and Alfreda Jenkins and husband, Mike of Scranton along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A rosary service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Monday, July 11, 2022, at St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Scranton.
The funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 12, 2022 at St. Ignatius Catholic Church with Fr. John Miranda officiating. Burial with military honors, provided by the United States Navy Honor Guard and the American Legion Post 258, will follow in St. Meinrad Cemetery in Prairie View under the direction of Roller Funeral Home in Paris.
Bud's grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Johnny Floren, James Sprick, Tony Schluterman, Mike Jenkins and Marvin Spicer.
