March 21, 1926 - June 18, 2022

Leo Tollett, 96 years young, of Little Rock, Arkansas passed on to glory at his home on June 18, 2022. Born March 21, 1926 in Nashville, Arkansas he grew up on a farm with his mom, dad, four brothers and a sister. His schooling was in a one-room schoolhouse, where young and old learned together and cared for one other. Leo followed in the footsteps of his ancestor, John Tollett, who had fought in the American Revolution, when he joined the Navy at 18 and served honorably in World War II as a mechanic stationed in the South Pacific. Upon discharge, he was a Motor Machinist Mate 3rd Class Petty Officer. He then served in the National Guard for seven years. After the war, he attended Draughons School of Business, where he met the love of his life, Maxine Harvester. They were married on May 6, 1949 and settled in Little Rock. Leo was a long-time member and deacon of Temple Baptist Church in Little Rock and served on the Central Baptist College Board of Trustees. He worked for 33 years at Worthen Bank, where he started as a teller and retired as a vice president, serving as manager of the Town and Country Branch in southwest Little Rock for many years. Leo never met a stranger and was known for his beautiful yard and garden. He loved his family, his country, his garden and most importantly, his Lord, with all his being.

He is preceded in death by his father and mother, Dee and Derotha Tollett of Nashville, Arkansas; brothers, Harold, Norman, J.E. and T.O.; and son and daughter-in-law, Doug and Deborah Tollett of Russellville. He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Maxine Tollett of Little Rock; daughters, Mary Mitchell (David) of Hot Springs, Arkansas, Patricia Naveira (Julius) of Burbank, California, Sondra Moore (Bradley) of Conway, Arkansas; a sister, Sallie Ruth Cornish of Nashville, Arkansas; nine grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
