Gary Kenton Cranfill, age 75, of Flippin, Arkansas went to be with the Lord June 4, 2022.
Gary was born January 29, 1947 in Gassville, Arkansas to the late Richard Lee and Agnes (Reed) Cranfill. A graduate of Cotter High School Class of 1966, he went on to proudly serve his country in Vietnam in the United States Army from May 26, 1966 to May 25, 1972 as private E-4, training at Fort Carson, Colorado and also at USAR Control Group in St. Louis, Missouri. He received 3 medals: National Defense medal, Vietnam Service medal with Bronze Service Star and Vietnam Campaign medal, along with extensive training during his time of service. He hauled concrete for 51 1/2 years and finished concrete for over 40 years. People called him ''The Concrete Man''.
He loved to hunt, fish and spend time with his family. He would play cards with family, Yahtzee, and watch baseball, football, basketball, wrestling, and Nascar. Jimmy Johnson was his favorite driver. He loved to have time for his friends. He liked picnics at the park
He is survived by his wife Sharon (Owen) Cranfill of the home; four daughters: Woodena Cranfill Mays (Howard), Regina Cranfill, Roberta Cranfill Moser (Tommy), Sharleta Cranfill (Chris); three grandchildren: Kayla Mays (Eric Weidman, fiance), Richard Mays, and Alvin Moser; and two sisters Sharon Shrum and Evelyn (John) Denton.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his sisters and brothers Mary Deatherage, Eldon Cranfill, Barbara Cranfill, and Truman Cranfill.
Graveside Service will be 10:30 am Monday. June 13, 2022 at Flippin Cemetery Pavilion in Flippin, Arkansas.
