Othema McConnell, 101, of Garland, Texas went to be with The Lord April 21, 2022. She was born July 26, 1920 at El Paso, Arkansas to the late Otho Lee and Gertrude McKinney Faulk.
Othema was raised on a farm in Center Hill, Arkansas, where she tended to the hogs, chickens, and cows, as well as helping tend to the family's well known vegetable garden. During WWII she worked as a defense plant supervisor in Jacksonville. She spent years as a Sunday school teacher at Cumberland Presbyterian Church where she influenced the lives of many young people.
Along with her parents Othema was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, William McConnell.
She is survived by her son, Dean (Barri) McConnell; grandchildren Paul McConnell and Ashley Elwood; and one brother, Dennis (Emily) Faulk.
Visitation will take place on Tuesday, April 26, 2022, at 10 AM at Roller-Daniel Funeral Home, with service to follow at 11 AM. Interment will be at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens in Searcy, Arkansas after the service.
