Glenda "Bug" (Schwartz) Needham, 80, a resident of Scranton, passed away Friday, April 22, 2022, in Fort Smith.
She was born June 28, 1941, at Scranton to the late Toney and Cecilia (Schmitz) Schwartz. Glenda married Thomas Needham on April 14, 1970, in Scranton. She spent her working years at Cloye's Gear in Paris, then the Scranton Public Schools Cafeteria, retiring with over 30 years of service. Glenda was a member of St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Scranton, St. Ignatius Mother's Society and Dublin Extension Homemakers. In her spare time, Glenda enjoyed Gardening, both flowers and vegetables, quilting and most importantly family, especially her grandchildren's ballgames.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Jerome "Stumpy" Schwartz; a sister, Laverne Brewer; four brothers-in-law, John Needham, Delbert Stubblefield, Florence Engel and Mack Brewer and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Clifford and Mary (Hurst) Needham.
Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Thomas Needham of Scranton; a son Tim Needham and wife, Allison of Paris; a daughter, Sherry Shannon and husband, Bill of Scranton; six grandchildren, Logan, Ethan and Hannah Needham, Logan Marlow and Sierra and Dillon Shannon; three great grandchildren, Landry and Rhett Needham and Halynn Marlow; sister, Carol Stubblefield of Van Buren; a sister-in-law, Marie Needham of Russellville and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 26, 2022 at Roller Funeral Home in Paris with rosary following at 7:00 p.m.
The funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 27, 2022, at St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Scranton with Fr. John Miranda officiating. Burial will follow in Wares Chapel Cemetery in Dublin under the direction of Roller Funeral Home in Paris.
Pallbearers will be Logan, Hannah and Ethan Needham, Sierra and Dillon Shannon and Charley Emberson. The present and former employees of Scranton Public Schools Cafeteria will serve as honorary pallbearers.
