Paul Ray Gloden, age 78, of Leslie, Arkansas, passed on Saturday, March 5, 2022, at his home with his wife, Eudora "Nancy" Gloden, by his side. He was born in Springdale, Arkansas, on May 3, 1943, to Frank Gloden and Mamie Ellen Garner Gloden. Paul is survived by the love of his life and wife of 22 years, Nancy; his sister, Lucy Campbell of Mt. Judea; his three stepsons, Victor Patton and wife Yashira, Robert Lane and wife Phyllis, and Eric Lane and wife Angel; and various step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, extended family, and close friends.
Paul was a born-again Christian and attended the First Apostolic Church in Marshall, Arkansas, for many years. He loved to fish and work on anything mechanical. He was a truck driver and mechanic at Kraft, Alliant Foodservice, and U.S. Foodservice. He retired in 2002 after 30 years of dedicated service. Paul was a selfless person who spent most of his adult life helping the communities where he lived. He was an integral member of the Eastside Community Youth Organization in Little Rock, Arkansas, where he served as the President of Food Donations. He also served as the Vice President of the Eastside Community Garden. In his work with those organizations, he assisted nearly 100 at-risk youths. He received numerous recognitions for his many years of service to the community.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Mamie Gloden; brothers, William Thomas and Dale Wayne; and sisters, Frankie Marie and Wanda Lee.
Funeral services will be on Saturday, March 12, 2022, at Roller-Coffman Chapel in Marshall, Arkansas, with Bro. John Eaton officiating. The visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. and will be followed by the funeral service. The burial will be at Rambo Cemetery near Marshall and has been postponed due to inclement weather. Friends and family will serve as bearers. The burial at Rambo has been rescheduled for 3:30 PM Wednesday, March 16th, 2022.
