Matthew Gill Kern, 46 of Scranton, passed away Saturday, February 19, 2022 in Fayetteville. Matthew was born to Sydney Lee Kern and Susan (Gill) Claunch on May 16, 1975, in Clarksville, Arkansas. Matthew was of the Baptist faith. He loved his family and friends, enjoyed all sports, spending time outdoors at the Family Cabin, where he would hunt and fish.

Matthew is survived by his son, Blake Kern of Lamar; his mother, Susan Claunch (Bub) of Scranton; father, Sydney Kern (Dadee) of Clarksville; two brothers, Adam Kern of Cave Springs and Nick Kern of Centerton; one niece, Mila; four nephews, Alex, Easton, Landon, and Ford; and a host of other family and friends.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
