Bonnie Sanders

of Yellville, AR

August 30, 1942 - January 26, 2022

Bonnie L. Sanders, 79, of Yellville, Arkansas, made her final journey on the morning
of January 26, 2022 in the comfort of her own home, with the love of her husband
nearby.

It would be wrong to say that Bonnie lost her battle, because she never stopped
fighting. No matter how sick she was, she was always determined. When anyone
else would have broken, she stayed strong. Through her, we know what resilience
and perseverance truly look like. There was no quit in Bonnie. Just because she is no
longer here, it doesn't mean she lost her fight.

She was born to parents Alvie and Tansey Gulley in Three Forks, Kentucky.
Bonnie enjoyed many things in her life. Bonnie loved ''˜going junkin' as she called it,
and loved to find beautiful pieces of treasure that others didn't want anymore. She
loved to quilt and often made blankets for many of her loved ones. Her hands were
rarely still. If she wasn't working hard on brain teasers or watching Jeopardy, she was
constantly trying to beat Michael in a game of Scrabble.
''She got out the dictionary and would make me take my word off the board, and I
would lose my turn, if it wasn't correct.'' Michael Sanders said, when he had beaten
her at the game multiple times.

Bonnie met Michael Sanders in Muncie, Indiana. They were married on February 5th
1972 in Eaton, Indiana. Together they raised 5 children. All of their children were
proud to call them mom and dad.

Bonnie is survived by her loving husband, Michael Sanders. Her sister and brother,
Sande Sargent and Tim Gulley. Her children Pam, Jimmy, Kip, and Dustin. Her many
grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews, and nieces. All of these people she
loved and cared for deeply.

Bonnie was a dedicated mother first and foremost. She treasured her children and
embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as Nanny. She
had a vivacious personality and always made people around her laugh with her witty
humor. She made friends everywhere she went.

Aside from her great dedication to her family, she also worked hard to take care of
her community as well. For many years she devoted herself to the Pine Mountain
Fire Department and worked hard as a First Responder. Through these two she has
touched, and saved, many lives.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alvie and Tansey Gulley, her son, Terry
Plank, and her brothers, Wayne Gulley, Fred Gulley, and Larry Gulley.

All who knew her, loved her dearly and will never forget her tenacity, wit, charm,
grace (when pertinent), and undying love for those she cared about.
