Miriam Piper Ray, infant daughter of Jacob and Jewell (Moran) Ray, was born on Saturday, December 11, 2021, at 1:50 PM, weighing 5 lb. 5 oz. and 18 1/2 inches long. Due to unknown reasons, Miriam passed away the same day at 2:22 PM.

Miriam will forever be loved and cherished. Even though we can't hold her in our arms, she will forever be in our hearts until our last breath.

Miriam is survived by her parents, Jacob and Jewell Ray, of Alpena; her paternal and maternal grandparents, Jennifer Hess of Bella Vista and Adriel and Ricci Moran of Osage; her maternal great-grandparents, Mary Forney of Alpena, Phillip Moran of Osage, and Somnia Moran of Miami; and a multitude of aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Miriam was preceded in death by her maternal great-grandfather, Mike Allen Forney, of Alpena; her paternal grandfather, Nathan Ray, of Van Buren; her paternal great-grandparents, Velma and Artie Joe Ray of Van Buren and Elbert and Selma Crowley, of Cedarville.


The funeral service was Monday, December 20, 2021, at Roller-Christeson Funeral Home; with visitation one hour prior to the service.

Interment was in Alpena Cemetery.
