Terry LaVance Williams, age 70, of Jonesboro, passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home on November 1, 2021, after a long battle with heart disease, kidney disease and diabetes. Born October 31, 1951, Terry lived the majority of his life in Craighead County and Jonesboro. He attended Valley View School for 12 years and graduated in 1969. He attended the University of Missouri at Rolla and Arkansas State University where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Communications Technology. His primary work experiences were with East Arkansas Cablevision and Arkansas State University as a Broadband Cable Telecommunications Technician before becoming disabled with heart disease in 2005. He was an avid motorcycle enthusiast and rode all varieties of motorcycles for the majority of his life. He also enjoyed firearms, target shooting and golf. He was of the Missionary Baptist faith and a member of Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his father, Fred LaVerne Williams; and his mother, Rosa Ernestine Williams.
He is survived by his brother, Larry DeWayne Williams (Deborah); a niece, Alicia Jackson of Austin, TX; a nephew, Marcus Williams of Flower Mound, TX; a special cousin, who was like a sister to him, Teresa Watkins (Michael) of Bono, AR; a great-niece, Victoria Jackson; and two great-nephews, Grant and Bennett Jackson.
No services are scheduled. Terry asked that his family, friends and acquaintances remember him in their own way.
