Kenneth Dale Orlicek, 80 of Keo, Arkansas went to be with the Lord May 26, 2019. He was born December 11, 1938 in Hazen, Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his sister, Lorene Wood and parents, Clara and Gus Orlicek. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Sarah Richey Orlicek and two daughters, Kimberly Ward of Houston, Texas and Dr. Shari Medford and husband Jeff of Amarillo, Texas; three grandchildren, Tyler Ward, Abbey Medford and Erin Medford.
Kenneth graduated from England High School in 1956 and attended the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville where he was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration.
He began his career at Southwestern Investment Company in Pampa, Texas. After several years he returned to work the family farm in Keo, Arkansas until his retirement in 1999. The Ken Orlicek Family was selected in 1977 as Farm Family of the year for the East Central District in Arkansas. He also served on the Lonoke County Farm Bureau Board and has remained a lifetime member.
Kenneth was an active lifetime member of the Keo Methodist Church. Over the years he served as a board member, adult Sunday School teacher and choir member.
He was an active leader in the community serving on the England School Board for 10 years. He was a member of the Keo Men's Breakfast Club for over 50 years and for many years led the group and arranged for guest speakers and community leaders to present to the club. Kenneth served as a board member for the Bayou Meto Water Management District since its inception over 20 years ago and also served on the former Lonoke Exceptional School board for many years.
Funeral services will be held at the Keo United Methodist Church on Friday, May 31, 2019 at 2:00 PM, following will be a graveside burial at Keo Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, May 30 from 6-8 PM at Roller England Funeral Home Chapel.
