Wilma Irene Scott

of Little Rock, AR

October 4, 1932 - September 14, 2018

Wilma Irene Scott, age 85, of Little Rock, Arkansas and formerly of England, Arkansas went to be with the Lord on Friday, September 14, 2018.
Irene was born in Pindall, Arkansas on October 4, 1932 to Lawrence and Mollie Bolin. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 32 years, Andrew Scott; her brothers, Willard Bolin, Wilvin Bolin both of England, Arkansas, William (Bo) Bolin of North Little Rock, Arkansas; her sisters, Lorette Hill of McRae, Arkansas and Mildred Gabbard of Jacksonville, Arkansas; her sons-in-law, Donnie Risner of Benton, Arkansas and Roger Fouts of Little Rock, Arkansas.
She is survived by her five daughters, Jackie (George) Whittaker of Little Rock, Arkansas, Mary Ann (John) Seal of Redfield, Arkansas, Diane Risner of Benton, Arkansas, Judy (David) Ricci and Sandra Fouts, both of Little Rock, Arkansas; sisters Imogene Acre of Azle, Texas, Janis Rhoades of Rogers, Arkansas; brothers, Wilburn (Shottie) Bolin of Lonoke, Arkansas and Troy Bolin of England, Arkansas; seven grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Irene taught herself to sew and was a seamstress by trade. She worked at Kellwood Company in Lonoke, Arkansas for many years before moving to Little Rock, Arkansas, after her husband died in 1982. She worked in alterations for Forsythe's and Feinstein's in Little Rock, Arkansas and finished out her career in alterations at M M Cohn, when it was ''the'' M M Cohn in Little Rock, Arkansas. She loved working there especially when she could get the extra discount once a year and buy the good stuff, meaning designer clothes, which she would never buy before. She retired at the age of 73 and within six months, her hands began to freeze up with the awful rheumatoid arthritis. But she did not let her crippled hands stop her. She could work a safety pin with the best of them and always said ''if you want anything done right, you need to do it yourself''!
She was a member of Landmark Baptist Church in England, Arkansas for many years and loved her church family till the day she died. Her pride and joy was her large family of five brothers and four sisters, but especially her five daughters. When she fell ill she said'' I always wondered why God gave me five girls and now I know why''!
The girls asked that memorials be made to Landmark Baptist Church, P.O. Box 177, England, Arkansas 72046, in lieu of flowers.
Visitation will be 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at Landmark Baptist Church in England, Arkansas, prior to the funeral service at 2:00P.M. also at Landmark Baptist Church with Brother David Inzer officiating.
