After 96 years, Thelma Margaret Brown Isbell's earthly life came peacefully to an end on November 29, 2016 at Southern Trace Rehabilitation and Care Center in Bryant. Thelma was born June 12, 1920 north of Humnoke to Luny Lee and Clifford Adelia Piper Brown and was married in 1938 to Nolan Isbell of the Snake Island community. They continued to live in the Snake Island community while rearing their five children.
Thelma was an avid reader until she lost her vision late in life. She also was very much an outdoors individual who enjoyed fishing, hunting, and gardening. It was these activities that gave her the most enjoyable conversations in her later years as she discussed them with her children and grandchildren as well as the staff who cared for her at Southern Trace.
Thelma is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one daughter, Nola Margaret Isbell, who died as an infant, and one grandson, Robert Aaron Cauley; six brothers, Arlon, Earl, Ulys, Henry, Clifford, and Harold; two sisters, Irene Box and Marie Abrams.
She is survived by two sons, three daughters and their families:

Don and Riza Isbell of Bryant '''' his children, Toby Isbell of Little Rock; Carrie (Jim) Furgerson of Vilonia and granddaughter Makayla of Vilonia; Stewart (Suzann) Isbell of Rahway, New Jersey and grandsons, Henry Lee ''Hank'' and Elliot Isbell of Rahway, New Jersey.
Judy and James LaFevers of Plainfield, Illinois -- their daughters, Shelley LaFevers and grandson, Dylan Schaefer, of Plainfield; Illinois; Terry (Jerry) Maher of Warren, New Jersey and Jamie LaFevers of Plainfield, Illinois.
Kaye and Gary Getts of Bauxite and her daughter, Katie (Jeremy) McMillan of Bauxite and grandchildren McKinley and Maddox Benish of Bauxite; BJ Hatton and her son, Jack Cauley of Bauxite;
Sharon ''Sherry'' Cauley of Bryant and her son, George Eric Cauley of Little Rock.
She is also survived by one sister, Luverne Isbell of Humnoke, one brother, Delbert (Noma) of Humnoke, sister-in-law, Viola Isbell of Jacksonville and many nieces and nephews.
The family will gather at the Roller Funeral Home in England on Friday night from 6-8 P.M. The funeral service will be held on 12:00 P. M. Saturday, December 3rd at the Hamilton Baptist Church north of Humnoke. Interment will follow at Hamilton Cemetery. Pallbearers: Ransom Crane, Richard Crane, Dale Crane, Harley A. Gill, Shane Isbell, Mark Isbell and Jeremy Jones.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Hamilton Cemetery fund in care of Dale Crane, 111 Crane Lane, Carlisle, AR 72024.
