Mary Burnett, 86, passed from this life to be with the Lord on March 12, 2016. She was the former Activities Director at Mid-South Christian Nursing Home, a prolific poet, an avid seamstress and professional cake decorator.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Sr. (1982); parents, R.D. & Virgie Parnell; son, Stephen Burnett; grand-daughter, Stefanie Burnett; three brothers (Murphy, James & R.D.); two sisters, (Dovie Marie & Virginia).

Mary is survived by three sons, John (Lori) Burnett of Arlington, TN; Joseph Burnett of Parker, Colorado; Jonathan Paul (Mechelle) Burnett of Fallon, Nevada; and daughter-in-law, Janet Burnett of Saucier, Mississippi. She was blessed with 11 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Mary also leaves long-time friend and companion, Lem Faulkner.

Visitation will be held at Roller Family Funeral Home, 3651 Austin Peay Hwy, Memphis, on Thursday, March 17, from 9:00-11:00am, with funeral service at 11:00am. Interment to follow in Memphis Memory Gardens Cemetery. Ronald Parnell, Officiate.
