Gerald ''Jerry'' Schroeder, 59, of Everton, died Tuesday, October 21, 2014, at his residence. The son of Jenean McPherson Hall, he was born March 14, 1955, at Gibson City, Illinois. He was the husband of Roxy Utley Schroeder, of Everton. He was preceded in death by his mother and brother, Danny Schroeder.

Jerry was of the Baptist Faith. He was a long haul owner operator truck driver for many years. He was an avid pool player and visited many pool tournaments including Las Vegas. In his free time, Jerry enjoyed boating on Lake Okoboji, remodeling homes and doing construction work and he was always will to help someone in need.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Roxy Schroeder, of the home; his son, Lucas Schroeder, of Manchester, Iowa; four daughters, Jennifer (Joe) Modica of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Regina (Aaron Doll) Defazio of Grain Valley, Missouri, Jeanette Smith of Blue Earth, Minnesota, and Nicole Schroeder of Ocheyedan, Iowa; three sisters, Barbara (Mike) Hess of Valdosta, Georgia, Debra (Scott) Bree of Spirit Lake, Iowa, and Carol Merritt of Milford, Iowa; her parents-in-law, Virginia Grenlund of Western Grove, Arkansas and Orlie (Gloria) Utley of Spencer, Iowa.

Jerry is also survived by his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Dan (Valerie) Utley of Blue Springs, Missouri, Regine (Jim) Reinstein of Lowville, New York, Donny Utley of Columbus, Ohio, and Roberta (Rick) Gilmore of Perris, California; 15 grandchildren; his dear friend, Tia Hofmeyer and her daughters, Angie Gesy and Cassidy Hemphill; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends.
