Frances Lucille Carpenter

Frances M. Carpenter, 90, died peacefully on February 3. 2014 at her home of five years and in the arms of her caregiver and best friend of many years Mrs. Jo Coleman Adams, also surrounded by her other caregivers, Dr. William Adams and Derek Sherron.

She was a retired bookkeeper working with several banks and establishments in Memphis. Fran had an avid interest in World War II history, and enjoyed supporting the U.S.O. Troops with her dancing. She also had a love for the arts.

Fran is the widow of Deputy Fire Chief James Carpenter and is preceded in death her brothers, Johnny and James McDaniel, sister Dolly Miller, her beloved God-children A.B. Coleman lll, and Christina Ruth Coleman, R.N., her caregiver for 2 years.

She is survived by her daughter Jackie Hessler, one grandson Patrick Hessler, 2 great-grandchildren Katie Bell and Kayla, sister Geraldine Griffith and numerous loved nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Methodist Hospice or the charity of one's choice.
