Virginia Lee Trindle Stephens, was the daughter of pioneer parents, Robert Trindle (1905-1979) and Elva Gosline Trindle (1908-1977) of Kingfisher, OK. Her husband, Cdr. Bobby L. Stephens MSC, U.S.N. (retired) of Bartlett, TN passed away Sept. 3, 2011 after 63 years of marriage. She was also predeceased by sister, Clara Harris and brother, Robert Trindle and is survived by two sons, Michael (Connie), Bartlett, TN; Robert Patrick (Deborah), Lilburn, GA, grandson, LT. Andrew O. Stephens, Ft. Hood, TX; daughter Cynthia Conner (Nick), Olive Branch, MS; grandsons, Blake, Kyle, Ryan, sisters, Jean Johnson, Marlin TX, Eileen Stremlow, Midwest City, OK.
Virginia was a registered nurse, professional artist, past president of many garden clubs, past president and member of the National League of American Pen Women, American Artist Professional League, Salmagundi Club of NY; served as the Mid-South Fair Fine Arts Superintendent and past president of Memphis Germantown Art league. She has a number of poems published. While a member of Raleigh United Methodist Church, she was active in Sunday school, supper club, ladies circle and worship committee. Whenever there was a need, she was always ready with, ''What can I do to help?'' We will all miss this energetic happy lady, who above all loved God, family, life, people, and God's beautiful world around us.
Visitation will be 10 am Wednesday, August 1, 2012 with an 11 am service following, both at Raleigh United Methodist Church 3295 Powers Rd. Burial will be private.
