For some reason I woke up this morning thinking about Dr. Plumlee. He was my Sociology Teacher at UCA and he was by far my favorite teacher during undergrad. I was looking online to see if he had a social media presence and this is what came up. I'm so regretful that I did not stay connected to this wonderful man. Nearly 20 years later and the influence of his class still reaches me. My condolences to his family and loved ones. Rest in love and peace Dr. Plumlee and thank you.

Bro Travis was an awesome man! He preached about not getting older but getting closer to being with his "King Jesus".! He helped mold my children's lives and my married and Christian walk putting God first in our lives. I have to say he made me realize how my walk with God should be! I always looked forward to him being close by so I could go listen to him. He always uplifted me and helped me in my walk with Christ. I've driven two hours just to hear him uplift God in his preaching. I've never met any other man of God like him and I am truly saddened that's he's gone but I know where he is and he's just waiting for all of us to be there! He's rejoicing with those gone on before him! Bro Travis you will truly be missed but I'm celebrating that you are not suffering anymore and you are with those that have gone on before you! The Plumlee family is steadily in my prayers! God bless you all!

He brought so much laughter to our group of social workers that met every year at our annual conference. He was always available by phone throughout the year in between conferences. We had lost touch after he left hospital social work and had just rekindled our friendship by facebook last two years. I am truly sadden by his passing but I know we shall laugh again in Heaven. We were blessed to know Pastor Plumlee through his ministry in Alaska. He is the first person in which I heard news of passing, where joy tended to overcome sadness. He was such a sincere man of God that I know beyond a shadow of a doubt where he is...with our Lord and Savior! My only sadness is with his family whom he loved the greatest one could and this came through in his ministry and the way he lived his life on earth. I pray for peace and comfort in this storm and know that one day we will stand with him with our Savior.

I was in the men's retreat he led this fall and I watched a man accept Jesus for the first time. This guy is still on fire and heavily involved with our church to this day. This was his life's work and it is ours. This is not goodbye rather see you soon brother for life is short.

Travis was our brother, friend,, and mentor. He was indeed a member of our family along with wife Sharon. Our hearts are broken for our loss and for Sharon and the children. He loved Jesus and we are certain he is sitting at His feet as we mourn him.We will miss you, friend, but we have a good feeling that the Heavenly Father said, "Well done, thou good and faithful servant"

Bro. Travis was such a blessing to so many. He touched our lives in several ways. We thoroughly enjoyed laughing with each other, learning the truths of God's Word, and loving our families more and more in our relationships together. His influence on lives and families is immeasurable. Whether it was sharing pecan pie and coffee late night in our home, sharing family experiences, or laughing about tying neckties, we always enjoyed each other. God bless your memory, our brother in Christ.

I am so sorry to hear the news. I know that Bro Travis is in the place we all want to be one day, but his passing is a great loss to this world. He was not only a great man of God but a true friend and adviser. May you know that there are those of us that knew Bro Travis will be praying for the family's loss and asking the Lord to comfort and protect each one of his loved ones.

Travis was my cousin and I loved him. He was always a Texan at heart, though he came to love Arkansas. I console myself in that he was a believer and that I will see him again. My heart goes out to Sharon, Alison, Austin and the grandchildren. Travis was one of a kind. He would want us to give glory to God and that I do. Thank you Father for making Travis a part of our lives and I pray peace for his family.

Our church and family are among several who share special blessings from fellowshipping with a man who exemplified holiness and a gift for teaching Biblical truths. If a preacher is successful in explaining the Gospel and in calling sidetracked believers back to the right path he can rest in knowing he has completed the race. We think our brother Travis has done well by his Lord.

I would like to say to the family that I am truly sorry for your loss. Brother Travis truly was a faithful servant of Christ that will be missed by so many of us who had the privilege of being ministered to by him. I first had the privilege of meeting Travis and working with him at Stone Ridge Baptist Camp in Smithville, Arkansas where Robert Gunnels and I were camp directors. Travis learned that I had horses and that I was a team roper and wanted to come and ride my horses one day, which I am saddened that we never got that opportunity. He also shared that he was going to get him some longhorn cattle and when he got them he would expect me to come and help him vaccinate and worm them because he knew nothing about cattle other than he wanted longhorns...lol. Travis would always ask about my wife as he knew she suffered with a severe battle with fibromyalgia and he would always pray with me anytime he saw me for her healing. I prayed for him and for his healing, and though I am saddened that he is no longer with us, I rejoice in the fact that God answered all of our prayers and that now Travis is completely and perfectly healed! I wish I could be with you for the services, but unfortunately we lost one of our beloved members at Pocahontas Missionary Baptist church and I will be conducting his funeral on Monday. My prayers are with you all, and may God bless you and keep you in the difficult days ahead.
Your fellow servant in Christ
