James Edward Mangrum, 77, of Mountain View, Arkansas passed away on Thursday, January 14, 2016 at his home with his family. James was born on August 4, 1938 in Hamilton County, Illinois to the late William and Lena (Cunningham) Mangrum. James was a veteran of the United States Navy and served his country for 20 years, and spent many years as a mechanic.
James is survived by one daughter, Nancy Ailene Mangrum; one brother, Albert ''Bud'' Mangrum; one sister, Helen Jean; seven grandchildren, Holly Thompson, Dan Morrison, Donovan and Cindy Pate Thompson, Christina Thompson, and Ryan Thompson; two step-daughters, Gail Jeter and Tania Thompson, and six great-grandchildren, Jason, Misty Gail, and Tommy, Valerie Thompson, James Wyatt Morrison, and Jake Goku Morrison.
James was preceded in death by his parents, William and Lena Mangrum; his wife, Frances Lord Mangrum; one son, James Edward Mangrum, Jr.; Step-son, Barry Harris. Sisters, Inez, Margaret, and Mary Ellen; brothers, Raymond and Randy Mangrum
Funeral services for James Mangrum will take place on Sunday, January 17, 2016, 2:00PM at Roller Crouch Chapel in Mountain View, Arkansas with Brother Marvin Sutterfield officiating. Interment will be at the Historic Cemetery of Mountain View in Mountain View, Arkansas.
Pallbearers are Dan Morrison, Donovan Thompson, Trent Rushing, Stanley Morrison, C.J. Rychtarik and Ryan Thompson
He was my everything. I miss this wonderful man everyday. I don't know how i was lucky enough to have a Grampa like him raise me, but he made me who i am.
