Clifton Shelby Lucas, 81, of Hickory Flat passed away on January 6, 2016. He was born October 19, 1934 to the late Nathaniel Clay Lucas and Bessie Mabel Lucas. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Shirley Lucas; second wife, Katherine Lucas; daughter, Faye Annette Lucas; great-granddaughter, Harper Hayes; four brothers and one sister.
Clifton was a born again Christian and a faithful member of Maple Springs Missionary Baptist Church in Rosie Arkansas who loved sharing Jesus with everyone he met. He was a ginner and a farmer as well as an Army veteran who served in the Korean War. He loved going fishing, eating fish and anything that had to do with fish.
He is survived by his wife of 8 years, Cruz P. Lucas; two sons, Ken Lucas (Lisa) of Earle and Nathan Lucas (Nikki) of Fountain Valley, California; two daughters, Shelby Jean Vanoven (Jim) of Hickory Flat and Henrettia Lucas of Earle; grandchildren, Lisa Griffin (Blake), James Vanoven (Chaila), Kassy Whitener (Ricky), Kayla Hanson, Jordan Hayes, Dillion White, Gavin White, Sara Lucas, Tyler Lucas, and Samuel Lucas; great-grandchildren, Jamie Riggs, Oliver Hayes Poe Hayes, Brooke DeSalvo, Whitney Vanoven, Michael Riggs Jr., Andee Whitener, Charlee Whitener and Haley Riggs; two sisters, Bess Evelyn Guzman of Blackfish Lake and Shirley Ann Reed (Shad) of Horseshoe Lake; three brothers, Curtis Lucas (Ann) of Cabot, Joe Lucas (Lola) of Bald Knob and Sherman Lucas (Cindy) of Sommerville, Tennessee; also many other loving family members and friends.
Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 9, 2016, at Maple Springs Missionary Baptist Church in Rosie with Brother Curt Howard and Brother Earl Stoner officiating. Interment will follow in the Olive Branch Cemetery in Hickory Flat with Calvin Salter, Jack Moss, Jamie Barber, Tim Reaper, Steve Wilson and Tommy Conder serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be all the men of Maple Springs Missionary Baptist Church. Visitation will be 6:00 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at the church.

Sorry to hear about your Dad, Shelby. I don't remember him that well, but I am sure he was a wonderful person to have had a daughter like you. I am very sorry for your loss.
