Doyle Beard has served as an ambassador for Cotter Schools and an advocate for kids since at least 1983; the Doyle Beard Gymnasium on our campus is a living testament to this kind man - and a tribute to the countless hours he spent in service to the school and the athletic community of this area. My condolences to his wife, Jo Ann, and their children and families.

Mr. Beard was my bus driver for many years, as well as my Pee-wee basketball coach and 6th grade teacher. He was always so kind to me, and he patiently helped me with math when I was struggling in that subject. He really loved all of us and I will never forget him.

What a loss! Mr. Beard was always so nice! He was one of the first teachers I ever had that would encourage me to work ahead on my math, challenging myself to do harder and harder problems. He never minded my classmates asking my help, either, long as we stayed quiet of course. He will be greatly missed. Love to you, JoAnn, and all those left behind.

What a wonderful man we have lost. As Mr. Beard had done with so many others he had renamed me Liza after hearing a gentleman misread my name at a hoop shoot in Mountain Home. I was forever renamed for him. He thought it was really funny not sure why except for maybe my reaction at it at such a young age. He made every child feel special. I will forever compare him to my children's teachers. However, they will never be able to live up to the man and teacher of Mr. Beard. Sending all our love and prayers to a wonderful family. The Terry Family.

Mr. Beard I have thought the world of you for as long as I can remember. Grades 4-6 basketball coaching and guidance. Talking to me when you could tell life was wearing on me. Telling me when another teacher wanted you to give me swats that it was gonna hurt you more. I have loved you as long as I can remember Mr. Beard. Like when I hid in the garage trying to skip school and you stopped the bus in front of the house and shouted for me to get on the bus which I did. I have so many stories. So many which you showed me the correct and righteous path. I love you and will see you again as Christ promises. Hug my little girl for me.
