Mary E. "Bettye" Freeman Fullerton age 88 died November 14, 2015. She was born September 1, 1927 to Ewell H. Freeman and Lucille Vandiver Freeman of Harrisburg, Arkansas.

Bettye graduated from Harrisburg High School in 1944. She entered Arkansas State Teachers College (UCA) at age 16 and graduated in 1948.

She taught school at the College of the Ozarks (University of the Ozarks), The Anthony School of Little Rock and Edgewood Academy of North Little Rock. She spent ten years in retail at Images dress shop in North Little Rock.

Bettye was a member of Lakewood United Methodist Church, DAR and Prudence Hall Chapter of NLR.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 65 years, J.W., one brother; Charles Van Freeman and one sister; Patsy Carpenter.

Bettye is survived by one son; Jay (Loris) of Little Rock, one daughter; Joy (Will) Meriwether of Conway, two grandsons; Wesley (Courtney) Beal of Batesville and Zachary Beal of Galveston, TX, one great-grandson; Reed Beal of Batesville, one sister; Shirley Foust of Jonesboro and one brother; Dr. Robert Freeman of Hot Springs.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at 11 a.m., in the Chapel of Roller-Owens Funeral Home, (501-955-5547) 5509 John F. Kennedy Blvd. North Little Rock, AR 72116.
