January 3, 1935 - November 2, 2015

Sammie Estelle Dempsey Thomas, 80, of Trumann passed away Monday, November 2, 2015 at St. Bernards Medical Center. She was born January 3, 1935 in Tupelo, MS to the late Samuel and Priscilla (Leslie) Dempsey. Mrs. Thomas worked for Salant and Salant Co in Trumann and for the East Arkansas Agency on Aging. She was a member of the Corner Chapel Baptist Church. She was a seamstress, and loved crocheting, word search puzzles and reading.

Mrs. Thomas is preceded in death by her parents; two sisters; six brothers and her husband, George Thomas.

Survivors include her sons, James Thomas of Trumann and Bobby Thomas of Dallas, TX; four daughters, Edna Holt and Patricia Pommell both of Bay, Sandra Graham of Loleta, CA, and Tanya McClelland of Independence, MS; 14 grandchildren, Joseph, Billie Jo, Michael, Stephan, Priscilla, Jerrie, Rickey Jr., Gary, Jenny, Zach, Billy, Jeremy, Harlan and Lindsey; 25 great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; and a brother, Calvin Dempsey of Conroe, TX.

Chapel services will be 10 am Thursday at Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home, 1900 West Washington Avenue in Jonesboro with Bro. Rick Jensen officiating. Burial will follow at Nichols Cemetery.

Visitation will be 5-7 pm Wednesday at the funeral home.

My prayers are with the familybut I would like to say to Sandra keep your head up high. Just like mom she is going to a better places there is only happiness for them now. I miss mom everyday. I will keep your family in my prayers God less you all.
