William ''Buck'' Swaims, 67, of Batesville, died Wednesday, October 7, 2015, at this home.

He was born in Batesville, Arkansas on December 2, 1947 to Johnny Case Swaims and Thelma Pearl (McDonald) Swaims.

He graduated from Cushman High School in 1965 and had worked for 17 years at Arkansas Lime Company. Watching rowdy westerns, riding his motorcycle, and traveling were some of the things he liked to do. He had his pilot's license and really enjoyed flying. He served in the U.S. Army, was a Mason, and of the Methodist faith.

Survivors include his wife, Sharron (Lewallen) Swaims of the home; a son, William ''Chad'' Swaims of North Bend, WA; step-sons, Frankie Clayton and James Clayton, both of Batesville; a step-daughter, Lisa Fay Pinkston, also of Batesville; grandchildren, Christian Swaims, Zane Swaims, Railey Swaims, Paige Clayton, and Courtney Coggins; and two great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a brother, Paul Glenn Swaims of Batesville; a sister, Janet Swaims Poole, also of Batesville; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Johnnie Lynn Swaims; and a sister, Loressia ''Sissy'' Fulbright.

Active pallbearers will be Charlie Gist, Kelvin Poole, James Clayton, Zach Harkenreader, Chris Phillips, and Jason Glenn. Honorary pallbearer is Bradley Phillips.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 10, 2015 at Roller-Crouch Chapel with Philip Lewallen officiating. Burial will follow at Barnes Cemetery near Bethesda under the direction of Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Batesville.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Saturday prior to the service.

I was so sorry to hear about Bucky. It is like losing a brother. We fought the battles of Spring Creek together.
