Richard E. CumminsI am a Veteran.

of Cabot, AR

August 16, 1948 - September 17, 2015

Richard E. Cummins, Jr. was born on August 16, 1948 and passed away on September 17, 2015.

Rick first and foremost loved his family. He is survived by his wife Sue Horner Cummins whom he was married to for twenty three years. He had four daughters, Wendy Griggs and her husband Franky of Indian Springs, Alabama; Cindy Pruitt and her husband, Jeffrey of Wynne, Arkansas; Terrie Norviel and her husband, Dan of Wynne, Arkansas; and Sabrina Helterbrand of Atlanta, Georgia. He has five grandchildren; T.J. Hamm, Kayla Hamm, Sarah Griggs, Macy Norviel and Ty Norviel. He has two great grandchildren, Shelbi and Spencer Hamm.

He was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church in Jacksonville, Arkansas where he had served as Chairman of the Board of Trustees.

Rick was a decorated Vietnam Veteran with the following medals and commendations; National Defense Service Medal, Two Overseas Service Bars, Vietnam Campaign, Bronze Star for Valor and Marksmanship and was honorably discharged with a Purple Heart.

He retired from Entergy in 2003 after completing 35 years of service.

Rick enjoyed traveling, fishing, hunting, woodworking, relaxing on his front porch listening to the rain. He loved family outings, Scrabble and working the daily crossword puzzle with Sue. He often met with some of the Entergy Retirees for a monthly breakfast. He liked listening to Country Music.

Rick was humorous and had a quick wit. He could tell a joke several times and get a laugh every time. He was generous in spirit and in heart. He will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him.

We did not get to know you near long enough my dear cousin, for that I will forever regret. For the time I did know you it was a pleasure. You made my mom so very happy when you found her, and she finally had someone for her to call her nephew.
