Ruth A. Shadell, 82, of Mayflower passed from this life on Friday, September 4, 2015. She was born October 20, 1932 in Grant, Alabama to Homer and Evie Clay.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Walter Shadell, as well as several siblings.
Survivors include daughters Terri Thomas of Mayflower, Sylvia Green of Greenbrier, Joyce Morgan of Mayflower, Mary R. Wheeler of Mayflower and son Keith Shadell of Conway. Other survivors include seven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and one great great grandchild along with a host of extended family and friends.
Visitation will be 6-8pm, Monday, September 7, 2015 at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Greenbrier. Funeral services will be Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at 3pm in the chapel of Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Greenbrier with Bro. Mike Lefler officiating. Burial will follow in Mayflower Cemetery.
I am so sorry, I knew Walter, and Ruth all my life my Mom and dad were best friends with them for years. I remember when they lived on 879 going to Lolly, then move to their house in town. we moved and lost touch. I am so sorry for this. Joyce was my friend for years. My Mom , Juanita Higdon passed away 9 years ago, I know she and Ruth are laughing in heaven now. My sympathy to the Shadell family.
Terri, you and your family are in my prayers. Your mother leaves lasting memories in my heart. She was a wonderful woman and will be truly missed. Please know that I am thinking of you all today.

Sylvia, Jimmy, and family, my thoughts and prayers are with you at this time. May the Good Lord bring you peace and comfort as only He can. I worked with Ruth many years in the old days of KC. I can honestly say, there was never a dull moment working with her. You always knew where she stood on any subject. Keep all those good memories close to your heart.
Our prayers go out to Ruth's extended family in this time of sorrow. I will always remember Ruth for her dedication and hard work.
Keith you are like a brother to me. You and Randy have been friends as far back as I can remember. So sad to hear about you mom. We are all here if you need us.
