Garry Von Foresee

of Overland Park, KS

May 7, 1956 - August 24, 2015

Garry Von Foresee, age 59, of Overland Park, Kansas, died at his home Monday, August 24, 2015. He was born May 7, 1956, in Kansas City, Missouri, the son of Thomas and Loretta (Stackhouse) Foresee. Garry was baptized and attended church at Impact Fellowship Church. He graduated from Northwest High School in Shawnee Mission, Kansas in 1974. Garry married Nancy Swedenburg, whom he met while working at Cherokee United Super, on January 18, 1975. He graduated from Wichita State University in May, 1991, with a degree in business administration.

Garry worked at Deluxe Check Printers from May 1974 to 1998, where he worked up to a department and production manager. In 2002, Garry changed careers and began a career as an insurance agent. Then he opened his own agency, Foresee-Mainville General Insurance Agency, in 2009, with his partner, Steve Mainville.

Garry was an avid hunter and fisherman. He had won striper fishing tournaments in Russell, Kansas. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed being out in nature. Garry could always experience the wild side of nature and have a smile on his face. He would sit in the woods for hours at a time and every form of wildlife that would come by his tree stand was inspiring to him. He always found the beauty in nature and every experience that he had in nature he could tell the story with such passion, everything from being stuck in quicksand to stepping on a skunk while hunting. Garry loved to deer and hog hunt in Arkansas; he had hunted the Sand Hills of Nebraska to the mountains of Colorado to the plains of Kansas.

Garry is survived by his wife, Nancy Foresee, of the home; his child, Taryn Foresee, of Aurora, Colorado; his parents, Thomas and Loretta Foresee, of Harrison; his siblings and their spouses, Judy and Houston McElroy of Harrison, Dwayne and Karen Foresee of Springfield, Missouri, and Mark and Doris Foresee of Harrison; multiple nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; and a host of friends.

Visitation was Wednesday, September 2, 2015, at Roller-Christeson Funeral Home; with the funeral service following with Glenn Coy officiating.

Interment was in Foresee Cemetery, Lead Hill, Arkansas.
