Dale Kenneth Eckelbarger 93, of Shirley, Arkansas passed away Tuesday, August 18, 2015. He was born September 7, 1921 at Gratiot County, Michigan to the late Roy Ephert and Mabel (Fortney) Eckelbarger.
Dale was a 20 year veteran in the U.S. Air Force he served in WWII and the Korean war.
Dale was a lifetime member of the VFW, served on the Van Buren County Fair Board, member of the VBC Cattlemans Association, served on Arkansas State Fair Board.
He moved to Arkansas in 1967 and raised Limousin Cattle and Miniature Horses.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Florence "Kuby" Eckelbarger, parents, brothers, Ephert, Kiel, Jack, and Roy, Jr., daughter, Dale Halcum.
He is survived by his two daughters, Catherine Mabel Stithem and Stormy Ann Krzeszinski and husband, Earlon, three grandsons, Les Deatherage and wife Kim, Michael West and wife Kelly, and Steven Berry, two granddaughters, Angela Hale, and husband Manuel and Linda Haley, six grandsons, Patrick Haley, Timothy Deatherage, Thomas Deatherage, Travis Deatherage, Michael West, III and Terrance West, and many close friends.
Pallbearers: Timothy Deatherage, Thomas Deatherage, Travis Deatherage, Steven Berry, Les Deatherage and Bobby Dupree.
Visitation 1:00pm Saturday, August 22, 2015 at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home Chapel Clinton, Arkansas Service will follow at 2:00pm with Brother Alan Rolen officiating. Burial will be at Shady Grove Cemetery Shirley, Arkansas.

Gale was a very special person. I really enjoyed the years I served on the Fair Board with him and the Petting Zoo he started and his children continued.
One wonderful thing many people didn't know was how often you all came and brought the miniature horses to visit in the Nursing Home. They always made a wonderful impression and brightened everyone's week, residents and employees.
Dale will always be a valuable memory in Van Buren County!
