Altie Lucille Tharp Lunsford, 95 of Batesville, died Friday, August 7, 2015 at her home.
She was born in Sidney, Arkansas on April 29, 1920, the daughter of William H. and Janey Coble Tharp. She was a wife, mother, wonderful homemaker, artist, and poet. She was a member of the First Church UPCI of Batesville.

Survivors include six daughters: Lucille Green, of Magness, Daisy Varnell, Barbara Wren, Christene Britten, Lorene Lunsford all of Batesville, and Glenda Cisne of Little Rock; five sons-in-law, G. F. Green, Martin Varnell, Wesley Wren, Gary Britten Sr., and Bill Cisne. She had 13 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Buford O. Lunsford, a sweet daughter, Margie Marie Lunsford; two granddaughters; her mother and father; four brothers; and four sisters.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Michael Varnell, Wesley Wren Jr., Eric Green, Gary Britten Jr., Myles Britten, Shannon Sutter, and Antonio Mascuilli. Honorary pallbearers are her granddaughters, Regina Green Stone, Lesia Green Kirker, Beverly Varnell Mason, Camille Wren Lemon, Penny Sutter Peters and Margie Cisne.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday at First Church UPCI with Pastor M. D. Parmley officiating. She will be placed to rest at Pleasant Valley Cemetery beside her husband and daughter following the services under the direction of Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Batesville.

A visitation was held on Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
