Billy N. Barnes

of Alexander, AR

September 9, 1959 - July 29, 2015

Heaven gained another angel, Billy N. Barnes, 55, of Alexander, AR on Wednesday, July 29, 2015. He was born September 9, 1959 in Grants, NM to the late Billy Joe and Johnnie Dell Barnes. Billy was a business owner and in sales with Napa for 34 years, had worked at Baxley's Automotive for 5 years, and was a member of First Missionary Baptist Church of Mabelvale.

Bill was a loving and generous husband, father, and friend. He met all he knew, as well as complete strangers, with a warm smile and a helping hand. His family awarded him his greatest joy, and he often boasted that his proudest accomplishment was his two children.

Survivors include his wife, Michele Barnes of twenty-four years; two children, Dustin Barnes and Brandi Barnes both of Alexander; two sisters, Delila Myers of Richwood, TX and Linda Sickles (David) of Albuquerque, NM; one brother, Charley Barnes (Roma) of Little Rock, AR, and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and grand nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 4, 2015 at New Life Baptist Church in Alexander officiated by Bro. Robbie Horne and Bro. John Venable. Interment will follow in Pinecrest Memorial Park in Alexander. Pallbearers are George Archer, Robin St. Martin, Rob Baxley, Randy Evans, Preston Tye, and Dallas Wright. Serving as honorary pallbearers are Freddy Swain, James Baxley, Farrell Wilson, Scott Warren, Woody Langley, Paul White, Bruce Rich, and Guy Marsh.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday evening, August 3, 2015 at the church.

i cherish every moment Billy and I had this last year. He has always been special because he is my brother but the insight he had and love for people, far exceeded what I previously knew. I will miss our talks everyday. I will miss your smile, your sense of humor, your love, and your way of always seeing positive in everyone. He loved God and spent lots of time with Him this year. No one can replace him. Billy, I love you and miss you and will see you again. Heaven is celebrating your presence with Him as we celebrate the time you were with us.

It was sad to hear about Billy's passing, Billy lived across the street from us on Willow Dr.
When I would see Big Bill and Billy drive up I would run across to get a piece of Double Mint Gum.
Billy was always looking out for all of us younger kids on the block. The Barnes family holds a very special place in my heart.
My prayers go out to Billy's family and friends.

So much to say! What a sad day this is to lose Billy. To his family I offer my deepest condolences. I grew up across the street from him on Willow Drive in Milan. He taught me how to ride a motorcycle on his red Honda 90. And we camped out in his backyard many times. And tons of memories of parties at his house when his parents would go back to Arkansas to visit in the summers. He was the older brother I never had. Will forever miss you Billy Norman

. Our prayers for peace and comfort are being lifted for all of you.
Where to start....we were truly blessed to have had an amazing friendship with Bill. .
When Dallas started working for Bill we were so at ease that he was going to work for such a great guy that we knew would treat him right. Bill not only taught Dallas about auto parts but many life lessons. We knew Bill must of liked Dallas a tad bit when he drove to Hot Springs to Super lift that HOT day when Dallas got lost. And even ened up at Baptist ER with his own leg cut.
A special place in our hearts will always hold memories of Bill.
