June 13, 1932 - July 18, 2015

JC Dodgen, age 83, of Benton, passed away Saturday, July 18, 2015. He was born in Alexander on June 13, 1932 to the late Joseph and Hazel (Taylor) Dodgen. He was retired from the logging industry as a forklift operator and was a member of Collegeville Missionary Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Lavern Dodgen and Dorothy Campbell and two brothers, Allen Dodgen and Bobby Joe Dodgen.

Survivors include his son, Ronald L. Dodgen of Benton; one daughter, Patricia A. Summerville of Benton; seven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; three sisters, Shirley Pyne (George) of Benton and Barbara Hull (Tommy) of South Carolina and one brother, Cecil Dodgen (Linda) of Benton.

Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at Roller-Ballard Funeral Home in Benton with Bro. Terry Sayers officiating. Interment will follow at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Braynt.

Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 P.M. Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at the funeral home.

JC, thank you for being such a great friend to my PawPaw Herbert, and my parents Connie and David Williams. Thank you for being another man I could look up to when I was growing up. I laugh now at how many men I thought were my grandpas. You was definitely one of them!! I have nothing but good memories of you and love you so much. Rest in Peace, and please hug my PawPaw Bert and Georgie for me!!!!

The memories mad with my family over the years is to many to count. My dad and mom loved you dearly. It will be hard to be home and hear the dogs bark and not see you step.out of your car. You will be missed. My thoughts and prayers to the family .
